sustainability

We have been trying for ages to grow our own organic vegs and herbs and although we have had a lot of success, the birds love them too. We have planted three lots of lettuce and apart from the first lot the birds had the rest. So... we have covered the latest lot with wire, lets hope we get some of these. We also bought a worm farm today, I am quite excited about that. At least we feel we are contributing to a sustainable environment, even only in a small way.

VINTAGE JEWELERY

I DECIDED TO PART WITH SOME OF MY LITTLE TREASURES TODAY ( to make room for more) (:

apricot jam

my son and his family went to Halls Gap for christmas holidays just when their apricot tree was ready to yield it's fruit. So over I went and picked a truck load ( well almost) and cooked up a load of apricot jam and liqueur.

Of cause it would't have been so nice unless served in a pretty conserve pot with a silver spoon( op shop find $3. The liqueur went into pretty bottles tied with ribbon and liqueur glasses for next christmas gifts

a little collection of treasures

my homemade welsh dresser, an old chest of drawers with an old bookcase screwed to the top makes a lovely base for my collection of blue and white china.
I dressed it up for christmas with blue shiny baubles

Lavinia

My lovely miss Lavinia takes pride of place

antique christening gown

This beautiful christening gown was given to me by an 80yrs old who had worn it on her christening day as did both her sons. I made the bonnet to match as close as possible
